Who we work with to manage wildfires
CAL FIRE is responsible for fire protection in State Responsibility Areas of California totaling 31 million acres, as well as the administration of the state’s private and public forests.
The US Forest Service manages and protects 154 national forests and 20 grasslands in 43 states and Puerto Rico.

California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES)
The California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services is responsible for overseeing and coordinating emergency preparedness, response, recovery, and homeland security activities within the state.
CFSC was formed by CAL FIRE in 1993, bringing together governmental agencies and corporations to provide education to the residents of California on the dangers and prevention of wildfires.
